Edit button in Gmail

Have you noticed a new edit button in your Gmail attachment! Yes, now you can edit the attachments in Gmail itself. Edit button is available for all the Microsoft Office files including Microsoft Word file, Power Point files, Excel files etc.  With so many people using Gmail and working with Microsoft Office files, it makes sense for Google to offer users the option to convert to Google Docs and work from a single file stored in the cloud.
In a Google+ post they said
“We realize that as a Docs user, you still sometimes have to work with different file types, so we often launch updates to make it a little smoother for you. It’s now even easier for you to edit Office files where you often come across them—as attachments in your email”
First, Click anywhere in the attachment to open, then attachment will be displayed in preview mode. Now click the blue Open With button located at the lower right corner of the screen to display options. Then choose “Google Docs” or “Google Slides” to open the Word or PowerPoint file, respectively. The file will convert and open for editing in Google Apps.Android users have to use QuickOffice app to edit Word, Excel and PowerPoint documents.
If you don’t want to change the format of the document you’re opening, Google recommends installing the Office Editing extension for Google Chrome, which lets you open Office documents in their original format, and then maintains it even after editing.  Once installed, users can then edit the file by clicking on the attachment card and selecting open from the top of the file preview, on the pencil icon to convert it to a Drive format and save back if required.
Users will be able to import 15 new Office formats including presentation files (pps, ppsx), macro-enabled files, and template files, all with improved charts, images, and tables support.

Disabling Facebook’s Auto Photo Enhance Feature

Now, when a Facebook user posts an image, it is automatically enhanced for clarity, lighting and shadow. The feature has been launched for iOS and is coming to Android very soon. Essentially it uses the same picture improvement filters that were already in the app, but now they're automatically applied for you, based on what Facebook thinks makes a decent photograph.

The auto photo enhance feature is enabled by default and if you trust in your own photography skills you can disable the auto enhance feature by following some simple steps.
Step 1: To start, open the Facebook app from your iOS device.

Step 2: Select the "More" tab from the lower right corner of the app.

Step 3: Scroll down to the Settings section and select "Settings", then tap on the "Videos and Photos" option.

Step 4: Now you can see the “Enhance automatically” option. By default the option will be enabled, so go ahead and tap it once to disable it.

Now Facebook will not be automatically enforcing brightness and contrast enhancements on the photos that you upload. Anyway, the auto enhance magic wand icon will still appear in the corner of your pictures should you want to enable it on a photo-by-photo basis.
You can easily again enable the auto enhance feature by default by simply following the above mentioned steps. Tapping again on the button “Enhance automatically” will enable it.

How to Enable Right-To-Left Layout in Android

We all are very much comfortable with the traditional left-to-right text alignment. But left hand users may feel more comfortable in a right-to-left text alignment for taping and all. If your device’s system language is one that uses a right-to-left script (like Arabic, or Hebrew), the change from LTR to RTL is done automatically.
To force right-to-left layouts on your Android device follow the below steps,

Step 1: Go to Menu and select Settings

Step 2: If you can see Developer Options and access it you can skip this step, else continue with this step to enable Developer Options. Select About Phone and tap seven times in quick succession on Build Number to enable Developer Options.

Step 3: Now Developer Options will be enabled and it may listed at the bottom right above About Phone, tap it to open.

Step 4: Scroll down and tap the box to enable Force RTL layout direction.

Now you have turned on the Right-To-Left Layout in your phone. All system menus and Google apps will reflect the change: phonebook, messaging, Google Play, Gmail, notifications area, and so on. Switching back to left-to-right layouts is just as easy, and is obviously done by taping again on the “Force RTL layout direction” tab.
